ROUND ONE

Today was a... rather eventful day I guess one could say? I mean let's talk about a rollercoaster of a round. Now, let's look at that scorecard shall we?

So in case you haven't already heard about this round, you must not have any interest in Bryson DeChambeau, be it good or bad. With an opening round of 37-34-71(E) he sits at T52nd and 8 shots behind the current leaders, Justin Thomas and Jon Rahm at -8. If you don't feel like counting all those circles and squares, and the unfortunate double square, here are the totals:

Birdies: 9

Pars: 2

Bogeys: 5

Double Bogeys: 2

Now you must be thinking, BrysonTracker, he had 9 birdies and shot even par?? And on top of that he only had 2 pars? A typo in the first round recap right? Wrong. Trust me I put this baby through multiple rounds of spell check, and unfortunately spell check can't check with your golf stats, but I can! That was a E par round with NINE birdies and only 2 PARS!! I dont know about you but I would be physically and mentally exhausted after that round only to walk in and sign for a 71.

Hole-By-Hole

Started off pretty rough with the tee ball finding the water, drops in the rough and lands on the right fringe. Hits it on the green with his fourth and rolls in the 5 footer for bogey.

Hole 2 was long off the tee the whole way. Hits the bunker shot out to 14 feet for a par save. Just misses the putt and taps in for a bogey.

Hole 3 starts off a lot better. Finds the left fairway and has 94 yards to the green. Hits a great wedge shot to the green and sticks it to 4 feet. Walks up, rolls that in, and first birdie on the day after 2 bogeys to start.

Hole 4 is a par 3 and finds the green. Has a 30 footer for birdie and runs it a few feet past, turns it around and taps in for a par.

Hole 5 finds the left fairway and leaves him with 138 to the hole. Another dart on another par 4 to a little over a foot. Another tap in birdie and that got him back to E on the day.

Hole 6 is the first par 5 of the day. Doesn't find the fairway but is in the left first cut 341 yards off the tee. His second is from 188 yards and finds the green with 20 feet for an eagle chance. Eagle runs a little by but another birdie and -1, this got him to within 5 of the lead.

Hole 7, par 4. 309 yards off the tee to the right rough. left with 164 to the green the approach stays short. Chips up but still almost 10 feet for a par. Misses the putt long and a bogey. Back to E par

Hole 9 par 4.double

After Round Thoughts

So it's quite obvious if you watched that off the tee was not the strong part of his game today. Putting definitely helped with the round averaging 1.455 putts per green.
