Not as exciting of a round as one would have hoped. With a 72(+1) it wasn't as nice of a round as yesterday was but wasn't as bad as the first round seemed in the end. No terrible make or break holes but no phenomenal ones either. Just seemed to be a mediocre typical day of golf.
As the day came to a close he would stay at T50th and is 11 shots behind. With a lot of really really good rounds out there, he just left a lot of shots out there. Cameron Smith shot a -11, Erik van Rooyen, Shane Lowry, and Corry Conners at -9 on the day, and plenty more -8, -7, -6 etc. rounds that showed the course was gettable.
Definitely no shot at winning this now so its really to get some momentum going, try some things, and have fun. In the end, we know that there won't be any golf played tomorrow and we will wait until Monday. And it must be my lucky day because with no work that day I will be right by my tv and computer until all golf is played. Some time to rest, figure some things out, and look to Monday's round and play well to take that momentum into the BMW Championship. Plenty of highs and lows this week but he is still playing some good golf and we wait for round four . . .

Fairways were down, greens were down, almost all strokes gained were worse than yesterday, putting wasn't as great. It really was a mediocre day on the course and in the numbers. Just kind of an.... eh feeling I guess? I wish I was typing all about this amazing -10 round with 2 eagles and birdies and fantastic saves but I'm not. We can wait and get that Monday night instead right? Really hoping to see those irons and wedges more dialed in and a little straighter off the tee. He was never missing very far off, just missing in the wrong places which resulted in a lot of fairway bunkers that would take away a birdie opportunity or just made a par feel that much harder.
Shot by Shot
Hole 1, par 4, 398 yards. Finds the fairway off the tee 282 yards. With 110 yards left, hits a wedge into the green that lands on the front of the green and stays short. 20 footer for birdie that just misses to the right by a few inches. Taps in for par, 4 inches.
Hole 2, par 3, 219 yards. Front left tucked pin. Missed right but about pin high. Chipping back across the green and gets it to just inside 2 feet. 20 inches and taps in for par. Remains -6 and now T32
Hole 3 par 4 395 yards. 332 yards off the tee with driver. Heads left and into the thick stuff. Only 46 yards for his second shot to the front pin. Long of the pin but 27 feet for a birdie. Long with that putt and makes the 4 feet 2 inch one for par.
Hole 4 par 3 205 yards. Back pin and lands just past it. 12 feet 10 inches for a birdie. Blows it 3 feet by and makes that for par.
Hole 5 par 4 427 yards. Driver off the tee and 328 yards to the fairway. 77 yards to the front pin and hits it to 4 feet 7 inches. Makes the putt for birdie and moves to -7 and T24
Hole 6 par 5 538 yards. Left rough after a 314 yard drive. 199 yards left onto the par 5 and advances only 136 yards into the left fairway bunker. Tries to lay out but ends up in the water short of the green. Now laying 5 from 30 yards, chips it to 7 inches and taps in for a bogey. Back to -6 and T36th
Hole 7 par 4 515 yards. Drives it 347 yards off the tee to the fairway and has 168 yards left. Iron into the back pin and flies the green. Chips it to 9 feet but misses the putt. 2 feet 3 inches for a bogey and now only -5 and T49th.
Hole 8 par 5 611 yards. 314 yards off the tee to the left rough. 287 yards left and lays it up to 90 yards in the fairway. Hits the green and just inside 20 feet for a birdie look but too much speed. 15 inches for a par and remains -5.
Hole 9 par 4 474 yards. Only 299 off the tee and ends up in the right fairway bunker short of the water. Hits it out and onto the green but over 40 feet for his birdie putt. Lags it up there to 3 feet 6 inches and saves par.
Making the turn after a +1 front 9 and T47th and -5 overall, we head to the back being optimistic and knowing he needed a quick turnaround. Thankfully, whatever he may be struggling with we know he will have all of Sunday off as they announce the final round will now be played Monday.
Hole 10 par 4, 496 yards. Left off the tee and fairway bunker. 199 yards left and ends up still on the left side in the green-side bunker. Hits that onto the green and 15 feet for a par save. Leaves that low and 2 feet 2 inches for a bogey. -4 and T59th. Slowly regressing….
Hole 11 par 3, 230 yards. Safely finds the green and 30 feet for a birdie. Runs it 22 inches past and a tap in par.
Hole 12 par 4, 431 yards. A bomb off the tee 361 yards and finds the left fairway. With only 44 yards left, he finds the green and has 8 feet for his birdie putt. Unfortunately misses long by 19 inches and another tap in par.
Hole 13 par 5, 580 yards. 310 yards off the tee and another fairway. 249 yards to the hole and he does hit the green, just the total opposite side of the pin. 70 feet for an eagle and manages to get it to 2 feet 6 inches for a birdie and makes it. Now back to -5 and T48th.
Hole 14 par 3, 150 yards. Finds the back fringe and runs past 2 feet. Makes that for another par.
Hole 15 par 4, 481 yards. Another fairway bunker after hitting it 337 yards off the tee. 145 yards left and ends up well over the green. Chips it to 4 feet 4 inches and makes that to save a par.
Hole 16 par 4, 325 yards. Iron off the tee and did not like it at all. It does find the fairway and leaves him with 47 yards for his approach. Chips that to 17 feet and somehow makes the putt for a birdie. Longest putt made of the day for him and gets back to -6 and T39th.
Hole 17 par 4, 445 yards. 322 yards off the tee and finds the fairway yet again. 114 yards left and hits it to 15 feet for a back to back birdie attempt. Misses by a foot and another par as he heads to the last at E par on the day.
Hole 18 par 4, 490 yards. Misses the fairway left but stays in the first cut. 160 yards left and misses short and right. Chips it to 6 feet and unfortunately does not make the par save. lines the ball back up and makes the bogey from 3 feet 7 inches on the opposite side of the hole. Closes with a +1 72 and finished at T50th.
