Tour Championship R3

After rounds 1 and 2 of 69-67 he sat at -11 going into today and at a solo 3rd. Not the best rounds but not the worst. Round 2 started pretty mediocre with a -2 front 9 and lots of pars. Really got it going with a birdie on 12 but followed it up with back to back bogeys. closed with back to back birdies to card a -3 and best round this week. Today started on a bad note with a bogey on 1, 3, 4, and 6 and only 1 birdie on hole 5. A front 9 of 38, the back 9 really wasn't much better. A bogey on 14 and a birdie on 16 he headed to the last at +3 and sitting T8th. Closes the day on 18 with a birdie to shoot a 38-34-72 (+2)

Off the tee wasn't the best today and the approach shots were pretty poor. Not many in makable range and when they were he couldn't seem to convert the putt. Closing the day with a 72, we wait for tomorrows round and hope he can close out the week with a good round.

unfortunately there will be no hole by hole for rounds 1 and 2. If I get the chance to go back and update later this week I will add it in here. But for now,

Round 3

Hole 1 par 4, 469 yards. With a wood off the first tee, he finds the right rough 260 yards out. With 214 left the approach is short and into the green side bunker. Chips out and no good there. Still 21 feet for a par, he has just a little too less speed and misses by 2 inches and taps in for an opening bogey.

Hole 2 par 3, 197 yards. Finds the green and great iron shot to 11 feet 10 inches. Unfortunately he had too much and misses. 1 foot 9 inches for a par.

Hole 3 par 4, 391 yards. Finds the fairway 336 yards off the tee and with only 66 yards to the green, it lands pin high and bounces over the green. Chips runs well past from a settled down lie and has 13 feet for a par. Misses long by 16 inches and another bogey. Now +2 thru 3 and only -9 this week T6th.

Hole 4 par 4, 479 yards. Driver off the tee and finds the rough between thee two fairway bunkers. The second shot stays short and chipping from 40 yards he finds the green. With 12 feet for a par he misses by 3 feet 9 inches and makes the putt coming back for bogey.

Hole 5 par 4, 442 yards. 342 yards off the tee and finds the left rough. 110 to the hole and finds the green. With 10 feet 10 inches for a birdie he makes the putt. Gets back to only +2 and -9 for the week at T5th.

Hole 6 par 5, 525 yards. Finds the fairway and 205 to the green. Approach is long and a little right but close for his chip. With the rough being so thick he goes straight under it and left it in the rough. A chip again that runs past and has 8 feet for a par. Misses long by 16 inches and makes the bogey. Back again to +3 today.

Hole 7 par 4, 481 yards. 280 off the tee to the left fairway. From 205 left he finds the green but 35 feet for a birdie. Leaves it short and 2 feet 7 inches for a par.

Hole 8 par 4, 455 yards. 337 yards off the tee with driver and hits the fairway. With 124 yards to the pin, his approach is on the green with 35 feet for a birdie look after it hit the pin on the fly and it bounced it off and away. Makes the par and onward.

Hole 9 par 3, 235 yards. Great 9 iron off the tee and such a great look. 6 feet for a birdie and doesn't make the putt. Misses long and right and 21 inches for a par. Closes out a +3 front 9 of 38 and currently sits T7th.

Hole 10 par 4, 424 yards. 279 yards off the tee and middle of the fairway. With 133 left he finds the green and has 14 feet for a birdie. Misses right by 11 inches and taps in for a par.

Hole 11 par 3, 214 yards. Finds the front of the green and over 40 feet for a birdie. Runs the putt up and has 2 feet for a par.

Hole 12 par 4, 389 yards. 271 off the tee and finds the fairway again. 102 left and hits the green with 12 feet for another birdie look. Gets it close again with 11 inches for another par. Has been back and forth with iron shots but when they have been good he just doesn't seem to make the putt.

Hole 13 par 4, 440 yards. 347 yards off the tee to the left rough and with 118 to the hole, his approach is long of the pin but thankfully the chip gets him to 4 feet 5 inches and makes the par.

Hole 14 par 4, 520 yards. 345 yards just in the edge of the left rough. 168 yards and its inside the bunker. bunker shot gets out but not to the green. Chips it from the rough to 7 feet and makes it to save bogey.

Hole 15 par 3, 211 yards. Finds the green and 22 feet for birdie, a good putt but doesn't go in. 16 inches for a par.

Hole 16 par 4, 454 yards. 345 off the tee to the right rough and with 95 yards hits a wedge in to 8 feet 6 inches. Makes the birdie putt and back to +3 today and -8 this week. T8th.

Hole 17 par 4, 430 yards. Right first cut off the tee. From 115 he finds the green and 30 feet. Gets the first putt to the hole and 19 inches for a par.

Hole 18 par 5, 590 yards. Tries to go into the other fairway left of the hole and ends up well left. Goes for the green and barely gets it on there. 60 feet for an eagle putt and runs it up there. Goes past 6 feet 9 inches and makes the putt coming back for birdie.
